Construction Youth Apprentice

Construction Youth Apprentice (YA) Opportunity - Summer 2025 to Spring 2026

C.D. Smith Construction is excited to offer Construction Youth Apprentice (YA) opportunities as part of our School construction projects. This hands-on apprenticeship will run from June 2025 to May 2026, providing full-time hours during the summer and adjusted schedules during the school year to accommodate class commitments.

About the Role:

Under supervision, the selected Youth Apprentice will gain exposure to all aspects of the construction industry, actively participating in a variety of tasks, including:

• Pouring and puddling concrete
• Assisting with building forms, building walls and partitions
• Using tools such as drills, hammer drills, and screw guns
• Painting, sanding and welding
• Sorting and moving materials, sweeping and cleanup
• Assisting with framing and carpentry finishing work
• Performing jobsite office tasks, including safety assessments, timesheets, and Procore entries

Work Environment & Requirements:

This position will be based on an active construction site, requiring work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The apprentice must adhere to all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, including safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and closed toe or safety footwear as mandated by the job site.
