Position Summary: The Compliance Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Compliance Officer by executing compliance auditing, monitoring, and risk assessments, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the annual compliance program, conducting audits, managing third-party vendor compliance, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented. This role requires a meticulous individual with strong knowledge of healthcare compliance, including OIG guidelines, policy-making experience, and technological.

Essential Duties



  • Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures
  • Assist in the development and execution of the organization's annual compliance program and work plan, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws and regulations, including HIPAA, OIG, and Medicaid
  • Maintain detailed and organized work papers and documentation to support activities and related work
  • Report violations of compliance or regulatory standards to appropriate enforcement agencies as appropriate or required
  • Oversee internal reporting systems, such as corporate compliance hotlines, and ensure employees are informed about these systems
  • Stay updated on industry changes, trends, and best practices, providing analysis of potential impacts on organizational processes
  • Must have experience with evaluating and identifying compliance risk areas
  • Lead compliance investigations, including conducting interviews, analyzing data, and preparing comprehensive reports with final recommendations
  • Review and revise organizational policies and procedures in response to evolving regulations and industry trends
  • Manage vendor compliance processes, including exclusion reviews and reputational assessments, ensuring effective risk mitigation and corrective actions
  • Oversee the implementation of remediation and corrective action plans resulting from audits, investigations, and compliance reviews, ensuring compliance with federal and state guidelines
  • Prepare and deliver oral and written presentations and trainings to staff, management, and board members as required
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring completion of assignments within established time frames
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred. (Major in Law, Health Sciences, Business Administration, Finance preferred).
  • At least 3-5 years of formal healthcare compliance experience, including at least 1 year of experience with OIG guidelines.
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of risk management best practices and HIPAA regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point) required
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records and compliance management software.
  • Knowledge of Compliance program regulatory requirements, including Federal Sentencing Guidelines and OIG guidance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root cause and resolve complex problems.
  • Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures in a healthcare context.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and written skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information are required.
  • Must possess a thorough working knowledge of the healthcare industry, its laws and regulations.
  • Must be able to work productively in a team-structured environment in a collaborative manner.
  • Experience with third-party vendor management ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Must show initiative and the ability to accomplish work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong project management experience and ability to handle multiple priorities
