This role ensures Festivities delivers exceptional event experiences by focusing on managing and motivating our warehouse team, ensuring efficient inventory management, overseeing deliveries and installations, and maintaining vehicles and equipment. We seek an enthusiastic team leader who will actively further company goals and champion the Warehouse and Inventory department. Job Schedule The days and hours of this position may evolve as the individual finds their footing and where the greatest need is. We anticipate typical in-office hours may be Tuesday through Saturday. At this seniority level, availability by phone or email outside of regular hours is expected. Candidates are expected to be available and willing to work during our peak times, which include the month of April, September, the day after Thanksgiving, and the month of December, particularly December 26 - January 2. Develop and execute comprehensive training programs (with clear documentation) in collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure team members are highly skilled and knowledgeable. Motivate, mentor, and create a culture of accountability, high-performance standards, and celebration of achievement within the department. Operational ExcellenceImplement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) across warehouse operations to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality. Analyze and refine workflows and processes for optimal productivity, identifying areas for improvement. Work closely with the General Manager to determine staffing needs, ensuring Festivities has the workforce to handle event volume and sales growth. Take a "buck stops here" mentality to ensure the team meets the deliverables and standard of excellence on all warehouse and inventory aspects, including warehouse care of goods, driving and delivery, and event production. Performance Management & MetricsDevelop and track key performance metrics (customer satisfaction, event profitability, employee retention, etc.) to measure the success of the Warehouse and Inventory department. Analyze data, providing insights for continuous improvement of operations. Team Leadership & PartnershipEarn the respect and trust of our talented team through a combination of hands-on work ethic, effective delegation, and open communication. Foster a collaborative partnership with the General Manager, leveraging their customer expertise while actively contributing to a seamless operational flow. Direct team responsibilities, assign authority, oversee scheduling and utilization. Maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude, even under the pressure of time-sensitive events. Technology Adoption Become proficient in using our contract management and employee scheduling/communication software, leveraging these tools to streamline operations and improve team communication. Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all Minnesota weather conditions year-round (extreme heat, cold, rain, snow). May be exposed to variable temperatures between indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to safely navigate various terrain including stairs, ramps, unpaved surfaces, and uneven ground. Manual dexterity required for handling delicate decor items and equipment. May require working at heights on secure ladders or lifts. Ability to maintain balance while carrying items. May be exposed to typical event environment elements including but not limited to: dust, pollen, and other airborne particles; various cleaning solutions and materials; variable noise levels; variable lighting conditions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and foster collaboration. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Role Specific: Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience, demonstrating success in people management, team building, and process improvement. A track record of hiring, training, and motivating a diverse frontline workforce in physically demanding circumstances. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and foster collaboration. Able to operate a forklift and box truck. Able to lift up to 75 lbs. Strong multi-tasking skills a MUST. Knowledgeable in computer skills specifically all aspects of Microsoft Office. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Handles emergencies calmly and logically, ensuring appropriate communications to involved and required parties. Possess strong supervision, coaching and production planning skills. Additional Preferred Qualifications Experience in the event rental, hospitality, or a related service industry. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a similar field.
