POSITION SUMMARY

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

  • Oversee Cash: Provide weekly/daily cash updates.
  • Create and Analyze Weekly/Monthly Reports: Timely distribution of assigned weekly and monthly reports to various personnel.
  • Complete Month End Process: Play a significant role in the month end close process including accurate and efficient completion of required journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations. Provide assistance in maintaining proper balance sheet reserve levels. Maintain inter-company reconciliation to ensure that all required entries have been booked. Repair integration issues on a weekly basis. Prepare and enter weekly payroll entries, and maintain the journal entry log.
  • Assist with Budgeting: Assist with the annual budgeting process, including working with various department heads to prepare SE&A Departmentals for the remainder of the current year and the plan year.
  • Assist with Audit and Tax Work: Assist with the annual audit and tax process, including preparing audit workpapers for accounts responsible for throughout the year and working with department heads and sister companies for tax information.
  • Complete Government Surveys & Reporting: Prepare, report and schedule payment of monthly sales & use taxes. Prepare and submit government surveys and audit information as needed.
  • Strong Team Player and Contributor: Able to work well with colleagues and produce results within a fast-paced and high-pressure atmosphere. Combines strong attention to detail with an orientation towards results/execution.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • Expectations include preparing standard monthly journal entries, preparing monthly reconciliations, preparing sales and use tax, and preparing routine monthly reports. Also responsible for maintaining intercompany accounts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum one year of experience in the field or a related area
  • Some prior accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and proper accounting procedures.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, including strong Excel experience.
  • Experience with an ERP system/software is desirable.
  • Speed and accuracy in data entry, with the ability to review / audit own work and the work of others.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while completing assigned workload on a timely basis.
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of responsibility.
  • Ability to work with confidential information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • In a workday, this person may be required to sit 70%, stand 15%, walk 15%, squat or kneel, twist, and drive / travel.
  • Will lift from 1 to 35 pounds. Lifting may include miscellaneous materials if required.
  • Fine manipulation is needed for PC work and use of other office equipment.
  • Visual requirements include ability to read and follow directions. This person may come in contact with office hazards. Temperature and humidity are normal for this position and there are no unusual atmospheric conditions.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment in posted areas of the plant, including safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety shoes.
  • Total awareness of the plant environment as it pertains to the safety of other employees, operation of equipment, handling of equipment/materials, and visitors is required.
