Position Summary: |
Directs the security and risk, custodial, grounds, recycling, repairs, maintenance, and utility services of facilities to ensure they meet the needs of the university and its employees, and monitors the Facilities Management budget and procurement. This is an internal search that will only consider current UW Oshkosh employees. |
Responsibilities |
- Develops priorities and implementation strategies for creating custodial and maintenance standards, schedules, and labor requirements for routine and emergency repairs, housekeeping, preventative maintenance programs, grounds work, warehouse functions, renovations, and capital improvement projects
- Directs the planning and scheduling of building maintenance and remodeling activities, incorporating operational requirements and priorities
- Develops and fosters a working relationship with university and state professional architects and engineers, project managers, building construction superintendents, and outside contractors while representing staff and residents
- Provides operational and strategic guidance to staff
- Determines and directs standards for routine and preventative work orders, warehouse/purchasing tracking, building and grounds projects, and use of automated maintenance
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
- Reviews work place health and safety expectations with employees and provides instruction as needed
- Maintain University Risk Management & Insurance Association (URMIA) membership
- Responsible for excess insurance renewal
- Manage property claims and subrogation process while maintaining communication with UWS, DOA and Sedgwick
- Manage property inventory and valuation
- Manage liability claims
- Oversee claim history requests
- Responsible for documentation and submission of Art memo management
- Ensure Certificates of Coverages (COCs) and Certificates of Insurances (COIs)
- General event risk and compliance
- Oversight of Facilities Management budget and procurement

Qualifications |
|
Required: |
Bachelor's degree in related field or a combination of relevant education and significant and progressively responsible experience in Facilities Management A minimum of 5 years experience in a managerial or supervisory leadership position in facilities management Experience in maintenance and care of complex facilities which may include property, custodial, grounds, building systems and risk and safety management Proficient in modern technologies, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams), mobile devices, project management software, and maintenance scheduling software (TMA) Ability to work effectively with diverse constituents Commitment to the mission and goals of UW Oshkosh and UW System Administration

Preferred: |
Division of Facilities Development and Department of Administration project experience Risk Management Certification Demonstrated excellent communication and presentation skills Strong analytical skills and proven ability to appropriately use data to help guide decision making Demonstrated emergency management skills which may include certifications, education, fulltime work or a combination of all.
