The UMKC International Student Affairs Office (ISAO) is accepting applications for a Business Support Specialist. This position leads the daily operations of our International Welcome Center and is a member of the ISAO immigration advising team. The role is a great fit for someone looking for an entry-level position in higher education and/or international education. The best candidates for this position will be detail-oriented and empathetic self-starters with strong verbal and written communication skills.UMKC is currently home to over 1,500 international students from 80+ different countries. Key Responsibilities * Oversees daily Welcome Center operations, answering general inquiries via telephone, email, and walk-ins (in person and via Zoom) Other Responsibilities * Serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and/or an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for U.S. Department of State - these designations require U.S. citizenship or permanent residency Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree * International education experience and/or experience living abroad Anticipated Hiring Range
Up to $18.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity. Application Deadline
