*Only candidates who are currentlyin the Columbus, OH area will be considered for this role* Automation Engineer ONSITE Columbus, OH Hybrid - 3 days a week. 1 year contract Pay range: $45 - $55/hr W2 + benefits Position Summary The Network Automation Developer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated infrastructure solutions. This role involves integrating and managing network automation tools, developing code for network devices, and ensuring the stability and security of network configurations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network automation, coding, and infrastructure management. High level tasks -Build and configure AWX (upstream to Tower)o Develop Ansible playbooks from scratch -Inventory reports -Build security baselines and report on compliance -Develop and deploy switch and router configurations -Build playbooks to automate patching - including pre and post steps. -Candidates will need to develop their own custom APIs, and if feasible, using cisco vendor APIs Responsibilities * Build, configure, and support infrastructure automation. * Integrate and maintain Ansible, Ansible Network Automation, AWX, and/or Tower with Cisco infrastructure. * Develop code to manage, configure, update, and modify network routers and switches. * Establish and maintain a build and deployment pipeline (version control, approvals, testing, and deployment). * Automate repetitive maintenance tasks, including system updates. * Automate and standardize core configuration of routers and switches based on security baselines and best practices. * Create reporting on network switch and router discovery and inventory. * Create reporting and monitor for configuration drift. * Strengthen CMDB through data enrichment processes. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience * Proven experience in infrastructure automation and network management. * Proficiency with Ansible, Ansible Network Automation, AWX, and/or Tower. * Strong coding skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or similar. * Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). * Familiarity with Cisco network infrastructure and IOS. * Understanding of security best practices and configuration management of network gear.
