Job Description

The Shipping/Receiving Material Handler ensures company productivity goals are met with consistent high quality by assisting with management of the efficient workflow of raw and finished materials using a variety of powered industrial vehicles.


Essential Job Functions

  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner, wearing required PPE and following all safety regulations to include operation of powered industrial vehicles.
  • Load & unload materials from delivery trucks and transport raw, finished, scrap, packaging, and other materials to appropriate locations as needed.
  • Spot-check inventory as needed and according to established timelines.
  • Clear communication with coworkers to ensure appropriate coordination of priorities and open needs.
  • Maintain clean and safe work environment, including following up on equipment maintenance as needed
  • Support other warehouse needs, including Hazardous Materials, Trash/Dumpster Disposal and Cycle Counting, as needed to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Participate in training as required.
  • Additional duties as assigned



Requirements

  • Please note: This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), as such, applicants must be a U.S. person defined as a citizen, national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Manufacturing systems knowledge
  • Ability to read charts and document numbers
  • Working knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Working knowledge of MRP systems, specifically Axiom and/or Ignition preferred
  • Detail Oriented
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Must have a positive outlook and can-do attitude to support departmental and company goals



Work Environment/Physical Demands:

The work environment and physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.

The work setting normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing environment that requires the use of personal protective equipment including steel toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Manufacturing areas may be affected by outside temperatures and machining..


The physical demands represent those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to: stand and walk for extended periods of time (8 hours or more), sit, kneel, crouch, stoop, climb ramps and/or stairs; read and write, work with a computer and keyboard; hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery, sirens, and alarms); speak to express or exchange ideas, impart oral information to include instructions; vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception. Must be able to lift up to 200 pounds with assistance.
