The opportunity:

Join our team as a Customs House Brokerage Compliance Manager, and contribute your expertise to shape our global trade compliance strategy while navigating the complex landscape of U.S. customs regulations and international trade laws. Your impact will be felt across our operations, driving strategic decisions, and ensuring seamless, compliant trade execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Expertise & Compliance Management: Interpret and apply U.S. import/export regulations (CBP, BIS, OFAC, etc.) and oversee HTS classification, country of origin determination, valuation, and free trade agreement qualification. Stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements, enforcement trends, and industry best practices.

Advisory & Strategic Trade Solutions: Provide expert guidance on tariff mitigation strategies, duty recovery programs, and trade compliance efficiencies. Assess compliance risks and advise leadership on strategic trade decisions, supporting business units with complex trade issues, supply chain due diligence, and forced labor regulation compliance.

Process Improvement & Trade Automation: Drive trade compliance process improvements, leveraging automation, analytics, and best practices. Collaborate with IT and operational teams to enhance compliance controls in ERP, GTS, and trade software systems.

Audit, Enforcement, & Government Engagement: Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and mock CBP audits. Serve as a liaison with CBP, BIS, and other regulatory agencies, responding to inquiries, audits, and voluntary disclosures. Assist with rulings, prior disclosures, protests, and regulatory filings.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Training: Partner with internal stakeholders to integrate compliance into business operations. Develop and deliver trade compliance training programs for internal teams and external partners.

We are looking for:

  • At least 5+ years of hands-on experience in U.S. trade compliance, customs regulations, and international trade law.

  • Minumum 8-10 of experience in Customs House Brokerage industry in U.S.

  • Deep expertise in HTS classification, FTA qualification, export controls (EAR, ITAR), and compliance risk management.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide practical, business-friendly compliance solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience in navigating CBP audits, responding to inquiries, and managing voluntary disclosures.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present complex trade topics to leadership.

  • Proficiency in trade compliance software (SAP GTS, Amber Road, Descartes, or similar) is a plus.

  • U.S. citizenship is required due to regulatory and security requirements.

Pay Range: $90,000-$105,000*

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
