Electrical Apprentice

We are looking for an Electrical Apprentice to join our team in Carlsbad, CA. The Electrical Apprentice will be a contributing member of a larger organization focused on the engagement and delivery of systems and solutions focused on energy efficiency and optimization of commercial and industrial facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform/Support work alongside experienced electricians, assisting them with various tasks such as installing electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment.
• Strictly adhere to safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools under supervision, ensuring they are used correctly and safely.
• Some knowledge electrical theory, blueprint reading, and the National Electric Code (NEC) to understand the technical aspects of the trade.
• Some knowledge in installation/repair of building automation system (BAS) equipment such as sensors, actuators, including landing of such equipment to BAS panel components.
• Some knowledge of installation/repair of mechanical equipment such as air handlers, chillers, ducting, dampers etc. (Preferred)
• Installation of electrical materials/equipment such as wire, conduit etc.
• Maintain records of work activities, such as materials used, work completed, and any changes made to electrical systems.
• Willing to support lead journeyman electrician with Analysis, Reports, MOP Sign off on work performed at job sites.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisor.
• Maintain accurate and detailed hour log of service and project time.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Some knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems focused on energy savings potential.
• 1 - 3 years of experience in electrical trade.
• High school Diploma or Equivalent.
• Able to pass drug screening and background check.
• Demonstrated safety training/education preferred. OSHA 10 card preferred.
• California Driver's license.
• The ability to follow directions from lead electrician on site.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, evolving, work environment.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time travel may include various means of transportation including automobile, public transportation, rail, and airplane.
