Overview
The Fire Alarm Service Technician 1 is responsible for performing inspections, testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and service of fire alarm systems to uphold safety and compliance standards. The Fire Alarm Service Technician 1 will work under the guidance of senior technicians or supervisors to develop expertise in fire alarm systems and related technologies. Responsibilities * Perform routine inspections and functional testing of fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA 72 and local standards. * Test and troubleshoot initiating devices, notification appliances, and system components, addressing malfunctions or deficiencies. * Assist in inspections and testing of interconnected systems, including elevators, HVAC shutdown, and fire doors. * Document all service activities, including inspection results and repairs, and complete testing reports with noted deficiencies. * Communicate system performance and deficiencies to customers and account managers for accurate quoting of recommended repairs. * Collaborate with senior technicians and supervisors to learn advanced fire alarm system technologies and best practices. * Assist in the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of fire alarm systems, and determine materials needed for repairs. * Respond promptly to service calls and emergency situations, adhering to safety protocols and maintaining compliance standards. * This is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of job duties and responsibilities. Qualifications Education: * Minimum of high school degree and four years of related experience or two years technology degree and two years of related experience. Certifications:
