JOB TITLE: Engineer 3 - Multiphysics Simulation

JOB SUMMARY

At Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies, we are dedicated to innovating and optimizing blood processing equipment to improve patient outcomes and advance healthcare. As a Multiphysics Simulation Engineer, you will be at the forefront of this mission, developing and implementing advanced simulations and Multiphysics models. Your work will be pivotal in designing and optimizing our state-of-the-art medical devices, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, precision, and accuracy. These efforts directly support the latest blood and cell therapies that improve and save lives.

In this role, you will utilize your expertise in mathematical and numerical modeling to identify critical system attributes and derive a first or higher order of parametric models from an existing device or a future concept. These models will be essential for performance optimization, process sensitivity analysis, and optimal design. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, sytems and software engineers, to integrate simulation results into product development. Your contributions will ensure our products are reliable and perform optimally through iterative simulation and analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES




  • Develop and implement advanced simulations and Multiphysics models for blood processing equipment.
  • Conduct mathematical modeling to predict the behavior of complex systems under various conditions.
  • Validate and verify simulation models through experimental data and real-world testing.
  • Optimize product performance and reliability through iterative simulation and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to integrate simulation results into product development.
  • Document and present findings to stakeholders, providing actionable insights and recommendations.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in simulation technologies and apply them to ongoing projects.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise on simulation and modeling.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers in simulation and modeling techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols in all simulation activities.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.


Experience



  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in R&D, simulations, Multiphysics modeling, and mathematical analysis, preferably in the medical device industry.
  • Experience with simulation software such as ANSYS, COMSOL Multiphysics, Abaqusor similar tools.
  • Extensive experience working in a global R&D environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams


Skills



  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills and experience working in diverse, international teams
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance in the medical device industry is a plus.
  • Ability to document and present technical findings clearly and concisely.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, traverse, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Additional Physical Requirements

Hybrid Position requiring 3 days per week in person at the Lakewood, CO Headquarters, and additional days required to perform the role

Travel

Occasional travel may be required to support project needs and collaboration with global teams.

Target Pay Range:$107,000.00to$133,800.00 -Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data

Target Bonus on Base:7.0%
