Job Summary |
The central Office of Information Technology at Auburn University is seeking a talented and motivated Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join our IT team. This position assists in the administration of diverse private and public cloud-based applications.
The ideal candidate applies systems thinking, possesses superior interpersonal and communication skills, is self-motivated, and is a life-long learner.
This position is located in Auburn, Alabama and working onsite is a requirement of the job.
May work up to 2 days hybrid remote in local area with supervisor's approval.

Essential Functions |
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Provide application management and administration for private and public cloud-hosted applications.
- Use industry-standard monitoring tools to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities on an ongoing basis.
- Monitor and report on system security and utilization.
- Investigate infrastructure or application performance problems.
- Perform application installation, maintenance, training, and support as required.
- Document and maintain established backup and disaster recovery processes and procedures.
In addition, this position will work closely with both IT personnel and end-users from a number of different disciplines and backgrounds. Some after-hours and on-call responsibilities will be required. |

The Systems Engineer (Infrastructure) position is posted at two levels.
Associate Systems Engineer (MA45):
High school diploma and 8 years of relevant experience OR
Associate's degree and 4 years of experience OR
Bachelor's degree and 0 years of experience.
Systems Engineer (MA46):
High school diploma and 11 years of relevant experience OR
Associate's degree and 7 years of experience OR
Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience |

- Experience with application and infrastructure administration.
- Experience with server administration in VMware, Azure, or other private/public-cloud platforms.
- Experience providing technical assistance to customers in support of enterprise systems and applications.

- Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
- Experience managing third-party applications in a complex environment.
- Experience with infrastructure administration, data management and storage, service metrics

- Experience with Qlik Sense, PowerBI or other DW & BI products
