Overview:

Veeco Instruments is looking for a high caliber and motivated Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering Group. As part of this group, the individual will drive development activities to enable next-generation product platforms and technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Support the development of technologies for semiconductor equipment systems including Ion Beam Deposition, Etch and other platforms targeting a variety of applications.
• Work hands-on with building, testing, troubleshooting, and generating testing reports of related high vacuum process equipment.
• Develop concepts as well as drive design and testing of new components/sub-systems across product lines. This includes the design of advanced systems related high vacuum process equipment.
• Determine the system/component specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Perform advanced data and statistical analysis to study system and process output signals and subsequently identify and/or resolve issues.
• Coordinate with mechanical/electrical engineering, marketing, field support, and supply chain groups in carrying out system development and improvements.
• Work closely with the process development group to set up and assess the performance of experimental prototypes.
• Use problem-solving methods and systems analysis to break down and solve complex problems.
• Document results through technical status reports.
• Assist in marathon testing and/or beta site testing at system/sub-system level and analyze field-performance.
• Must be able to travel up to 20% internationally and domestically.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 2 years of experience in a Engineering discipline or a Master's degree is required. Experience with 2D CAD systems is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• General understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and Computer Science Disciplines
• Hands-on ability to assemble/disassemble complex parts and prototyping/testing experience required
• Experience in analyzing and presenting data using Python, MATLAB, Excel or other tools
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to summarize and communicate complex concepts and analysis
• General knowledge of Control Systems as it related to Machine Control is helpful

The expected salary range for this position is $103,575.00-131,195.00, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
