Responsibilities

What You'll Do:
As an Associate Therapist, you will play a critical role in our crisis intervention team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Triage Crisis Calls: Utilize your expertise to assess urgent needs and provide immediate support to individuals in crisis.
  • Consult with On-Call Physicians: Collaborate with medical professionals to determine the appropriate level of care for clients, ensuring they receive the best possible treatment.
  • Coordinate Admissions: Work closely with hospitals and community professionals to facilitate smooth admissions to our inpatient unit, ensuring a seamless transition for clients in need.
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Relations: Uphold PrairieCare's commitment to outstanding service by fostering positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Cultural Competence: Bring your knowledge of gender, cultural differences, and age-appropriate care to provide tailored support for our diverse clientele.
  • Clinical Support: Step in to provide backup for therapists and perform other clinical duties as needed, contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related therapeutic field. Licensed or currently pursuing licensure in state of Minnesota and receiving clinical supervision toward such
  • Two years of experience in behavioral healthcare is preferred
  • Must have knowledge of DSM-IV criteria
  • Skill in interviewing and assessment
  • Display a professional attitude in all aspects of his/her performance
  • Skills to communicate clearly and effectively with Clinical Directors and professionals within other organizations
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office Products including Word and Outlook
  • Must have reliable transportation and telephone
  • Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
  • Skills to communicate well both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations
  • Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
  • After training, be able to manage disruptive and explosive patients.
  • Associate level license in State of Minnesota (LAMFT, LGSW, LPC) preferred.

Pay range for this position is $26 to $34 depending on education and experience.
