Staff Associate II

The Department of Biostatistics at the Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University, is seeking a full-time Staff Associate II.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Implement statistical methods, study design, data analysis, and power analysis. Perform statistical programming and support data management.
• Moderately complex situations based on education and experience using judgement.
• Work within guidelines to implement statistical methods, study design, data analysis, and power analysis with limited PI supervision, both collaboratively and independently.
• Proven ability in SAS, R, or STATA, SPSS, Python. Data visualization skills with R-shiny. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Summarize and explain information to researchers and other collaborators. Assist in the preparation of manuscripts for publication purposes.

Minimum educational requirements for this position: Bachelor's degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or related field.

• Proven ability in SAS, R, or STATA, C++/RCC, Python. Data visualization skills with R-shiny.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• 4 years' work experience recommended. Work experience may not be substituted for the educational requirements.
