JOB DESCRIPTION

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and supporting Windows and Linux-based applications for Production and Development in a highly collaborative and fast paced environment. Responsibilities include assisting in driving the planning and execution of annual technology continuity exercises as well as preparing for real-life disruptive events to the enterprise. Additional responsibilities include configuring and supporting operational aspects of enterprise applications (Windows and Linux-based), identifying and correcting performance issues, and providing technical and operational support to applications development, infrastructure teams, DevOps and end-users. The incumbent will be involved in supporting and troubleshooting all aspects of application functionality, Capacity and Performance Management, Asset Management, Application Monitoring and Alerting, software installation and configuration, technical support, server security management, hardware configuration and procurement.

This is a hybrid role that requires you to work onsite at our Alpharetta, GA office for 1-2 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with Applications and Technology stakeholders to build out and continuously maintain disaster recovery plans utilized for disruptive events and annual resiliency and continuity testing.
  • Drives the conducting of annual resiliency exercises to test the effectiveness and validity of recovery plans to ensure relevant systems and processes can be recovered as a result of a disruptive event.
  • Builds out comprehensive and summary post continuity exercise reports which are distributed to leadership, relevant stakeholders, and regulatory entities.
  • Ownership of enterprise applications from a runtime, configuration, and operational support perspective.
  • Provides technical support for Production and Development systems (Windows and Linux-based) including deployments, upgrades, patching, and performance monitoring.
  • Attends all production triage and troubleshooting calls, providing root cause analysis, resolution, and recommendations on issues to relevant stakeholders and leadership.
  • Performs intermediate to advanced troubleshooting, testing, and debugging to resolve process, application, batch, or testing failures.
  • Completes performance analysis on escalated issues for end-user response time or reported slowness of system resources.
  • Regularly collaborates with Applications Development, Infrastructure and Operations, and Operational Support teams.
  • Proactively works on automation of internal and external team processes to create organizational efficiencies.
  • Collaborates with the Asset Management team to manage company assets from acquisition through end-of-life.
  • Participates in projects related to technology asset management including internal, and external audits, asset migrations, upgrades, and system implementations.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years professional experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • CBCP or ABCP certification is a plus.
  • Experience leading or driving annual disaster recovery exercises.
  • Intermediate to advanced applications troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in projects working as a member of a technical team and/or supporting production and development systems.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux Server System products involving a variety of software and hardware implementations and support.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex key issues and details, and present understandable alternatives to both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation to support the testing, installation, operations, deployment, and maintenance of applications and services.
  • Proven ability to effectively present data to facilitate understanding of findings.
  • Ability to develop and analyze technology heatmaps and subsequently develop plans to remediate hardware/software nearing End of Life/End of Support.
  • Experience with framework adhering to organizational processes and procedures including but not limited to agile, scrum, and architecture and design artifacts.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 21. $80,500 - $174,300
