Wieland is hiring a Laborer III. The Laborer III will assist processing electronic material by grading and sorting the different valuable metals along with other parts into different recycling streams. This Electronics Recycling and Processing Associate is an entry level position, reflecting employees with no previous knowledge or experience related to recycling. The Electronics Recycling and Processing Associate will report directly to the Production Supervisor II and will sort and organize e-waste material according to guidelines. Maintain good housekeeping of assigned area. Dismantle and separate materials using hand tools or operation of a machine. Assemble and package metals for shipping. This position will work directly as a liaison between the production and commercial departments. This role is located in Granite City, IL and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $18.00/hr

Schedule: 7 am - 3:30 pm

Pay Schedule: Weekly

Laborer III Responsibilities:

Sort and organize e-waste material into bins, boxes or bags.
• Operate and observe machines that are chopping and separating e-waste.
• Sort material by hand at shredder, sortation tables or the use of machines.
• Dismantle e-waste by use of hand tools or other mechanical means.
• Perform routine inspection of work area to ensure proper housekeeping.
• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Supervisor, Safety or HR.
• Follow Daily Procedures & Protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings.
• Operate various small to mid-size mobile equipment (skid steer, forklift, etc.).

Laborer III Qualifications:

• Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
• Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to forklift operations.
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Lift up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
• Use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.
• Ability to grasp, handle separate and hold objects.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to stand, kneel, bend, sit and use stairs or a ladder.
• Able to wear all required PPE associated with required tasks.
