Overview The intern will primarily assist the assigned department with a variety of duties, ranging from completing administrative tasks to supporting/continuing implementation of existing programs and systems, to shadowing team members in strategic discussions. The intern will be involved in project-based work that will allow them the opportunity to learn in a corporate environment at a pharmaceutical company. In general, the intern will be encouraged and expected to offer recommendations for process improvements/enhancements on all matters. The intern, in collaboration with SKLSI team members, will develop goals at the beginning of the internship. The intern will take on an active support role and should be comfortable asking questions and taking initiative in order to best enhance their contributions to SKLSI and their own educational experience. Assignment of responsibilities will be commensurate with demonstrated abilities, and where possible, will be aligned with the intern's goals. This is a paid internship located at the Paramus, NJ facility. Responsibilities The summer intern will work on projects and tasks that increase their understanding of the Business Research and Analytics function, and provide value to the organization. The summer intern will work on developing and sharpening important skills in the areas of:
Communication
Projects/tasks include: - Shadowing Director, Customer Insights in reviewing screening instruments, discussion guides, questionnaires and reports to understand how to move research projects from initial business questions to insight delivery -Participating in all aspects of qualitative & quantitative research projects from kick off to final report presentation (time/schedule permitting), and providing assistance as appropriate -Reviewing ATUs and other quantitative trackers and making suggestions for potential optimizations -Providing competitive intelligence support by monitoring ASM company websites and Clinical Trials.gov -Attending monthly TRx/New Patient Start volume performance read outs to gain exposure to pharmaceutical forecasting -Joining SK lunch & learns to better understand the responsibilities associated with various roles within a life science company -Setting up brief introductory meetings (if not offered in a lunch & learn format) with key stakeholders within Commercial Operations to learn more about roles and responsibilities within this important functional area -Interacting with compliance to enable and disable training accounts for outside vendors -Assisting with set up of new vendors and projects as appropriate (e.g. forwarding templates to vendors, reviewing and forwarding completed documents to SK Accounting) Qualifications
