Description

What you will do:



  • You will directly participate in and manage an engineering team responsible for designing, integrating, coordinating, and certifying new capabilities and system upgrades on customer aircraft.
  • Assess emerging technologies and regulatory developments for potential business opportunities and impact on the aviation industry.
  • Serve as liaison to the FAA on certification projects.
  • Support growth through business development activities & continuous improvement initiatives including but not limited to customer presentations proposal development for engineering services, and other industry/business related partnerships.


What you need:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Program/Project management experience with demonstrated strategic planning ability.
  • Minimum 8 years combined Airline, MRO, or OEM engineering experience.
  • Must maintain and exhibit awareness regarding implications and required compliance criteria of Airworthiness Directives (AD), Service Bulletins (SB), and other FAA and OEM documentation
  • Experience working/interfacing with the FAA (or designee) on Engineering-related projects.
  • Recognized organizational leadership with solid team building and communication skills.
  • Verbal, written and presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade and/or facilitate discussions with all levels of employees, management and customers.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations.
  • Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign, and coordinate workload of assigned area and employees within a multiple project setting.
  • Proficiency in the operation of Microsoft Office word processing, spreadsheet, Power point & Project tools, database, email and web-based applications.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar desktop drafting application.


Preferred Job Skills:



  • Six-Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, and/or LEAN Process training. Prior hands-on experience in a heavy maintenance Transport or Regional Jets environment
  • FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER)
  • Advanced degree and/or formal training in Business, Finance, Marketing, or area of Engineering specialization.
  • Management Training or Experience
