Job Summary

Supervises the operations of the FIU Law Library fulfillment services. Performs skilled duties in areas such as circulation, interlibrary loan, and stacks management. Monitors Library physical spaces and materials, triaging facility issues. Coordinate with Library Manager and staff on library projects, such as shifting. Utilizes technology to advertise on Law Library digital display. Communicates and develops with Library manager policy and training materials; update, adjust and create new fulfillment & service procedures.

  • Oversees Information Desk and fulfillment (circulation) services and operations. Monitors the Library physical space and resources, and triages maintenance problems. Develops reports, goals, objectives, standards of performance, and procedures. Opens the library and performs maintenance sweeps.
  • Supervise and coordinate training for the Library's staff and student employees to provide comprehensive access and fulfillment services to the entire law school community. Monitor shelf-reading, shifting, dusting and stacks; utilize ALMA integrated library systems to check-out and check-in materials and maintain accurate inventory of materials and patron data.
  • Perform skilled duties in areas such as circulation, interlibrary loan, and stacks management. Exercises judgment in application of policies and guidelines.
  • Works collaboratively with FIU Libraries, College of Law, FLVC, and FIU IT services to ensure that Information Desk and fulfillment services operating systems, hardware, software and tools are fully functional and meet staff and patron needs.
  • Utilizes and conducts online troubleshooting in current software to circulate materials, access and manage patron financial accounts for fiscal operational needs. Collaborates with various departments and external agencies to provide services.
  • Develops and monitors technology for digital displays. Connect with the Law Library, College of Law, and Law organizations and departments to display relevant events and content. Create graphics for use within Law Library facilities, including QR codes to respective links and resources. Coordinate with library manager to establish new Law Library and College of Law promotional materials.
  • Provides recommendations on developing, implementing, and revising Law Library programs. Creates, publishes and promotes the Library programs, resources, activities, and other items on the web and as directed. Ensures cross-promotion of same across all College of Law digital media outlets.
  • Assists in enforcing policies of the College of Law and Library. Coordinate with College of Law Security, Library Manager, and FIU Police Department to ensure student safety.
  • Retrieve and shelves books/materials. Inspect incoming resources for damage.Determines which items need repair; search for missing/lost items. Suggest new material for collection development. Receives / unboxes library mail.
  • Performs specialized and complex operations using library systems and/or a variety of other electronic resources and software packages as needed to support Information Desk and fulfillment services. Operates standard equipment and software used in a library.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and eight (8) years of related experience with one (1) year of supervisory experience or Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of related experience.
