Job Summary

Responsible for all IT support and maintenance of the entire University Surveillance (CCTV) Systems and IP Burglar Alarm Systems for MMC, BBC, and EC campuses. This includes all equipment, servers and software that are part of the system. Works with DoIT to ensure equipment is connecting properly on the network and includes requesting and managing the IP addresses of all equipment. Works closely with FIU Police to assist in the monitoring and retrieval of footage.

  • Programs and maintains Surveillance (CCTV) cameras on the IP network. Including configuring the camera settings such as Frames Per Second (FPS), Resolution, Compression, Focus and Positioning.
  • Manages all aspects of the Surveillance Video Management Software (VMS) including the server storage design and maintenance, software configuration, Mobile/Web based application installation/support, user rights assignment, updating camera layouts on floor plans and footage retrieval.
  • Provides support for the Universitys alarm system, including the registration and removal of user codes within the security system.
  • Oversees comprehensive management of the UHF radio system, encompassing radio programming, template configuration, and providing technical support for university commencement events.
  • Assists in the maintenance of computers databases and researches for problem solutions via the web.
  • Requests and manages IP addresses of all equipment.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting as needed to FIU Police for any security events.
  • Works with FIU Police and provides on-call assistance and after hours support for major University events.
  • Assists the IT Manager for Facilities IT Services with the design and layout of cameras on new projects.
  • Performs essential duties during any emergencies, such as hurricanes, storms and/or any other University emergency closing. Is expected to be available to report to work as needed during University emergency closings with appropriate notification by department administrator.
  • Performs other duties and task related to University Operations or requirements as may be required by Facilities Management Administration and or other University Administrators.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years experience in IT related field; OR six (6) years experience in IT related field; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
