Position Purpose This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. This includes directing and supervising staff to provide a full range of accounting support services to the Bank.
Position Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Chief Accounting Officer on forecasting, accounting policies and reporting issues
- Ensure the financial data integrity for certain lines of business and subsidiaries with direct oversight of the following:
- General ledger transactions
- Monthly financial results
- Manage the accounting for equity compensation, deferred compensation etc.
- Prepare monthly tax provision and periodic deferred tax analysis
- Work with external tax professionals to ensure timely filing of all required tax filings.
- Act as liaison with external and internal auditors and regulatory examiners.
- Possess strong technical expertise in understanding generally accepted accounting principles ("GAAP") and bank regulations to be able to maintain compliance with both.
- Ensure the Company's accounting policies and procedures, as well as a system of internal controls, are maintained in accordance with GAAP and banking regulations.
- Drive continuous process improvement and adoption of automation in the accounting and finance area, including the use of data for reporting and decision making.
- Provide support, guidance and problem-solving assistance on a wide range of finance, operational and accounting matters throughout the Company.
- Manage and oversee all required regulatory reporting for the Bank and Holding Company.
- Management of accounting staff.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field of study.
- 7 to 10 years of banking experience with management responsibility.
- Public Accounting experience a plus.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work within strict deadlines
- Microsoft office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working Arrangements
- This is a hybrid role expected to work in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. You will be able to work remotely on Wednesday.
Compensation:
- Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $175,000 annually. Final determination of where you are at in the salary range is based on numerous factors such as relevant experience, skill set, education, and ability to meet qualifications within the job description.
- Additional Compensation: This role will include a yearly annual target bonus based on individual performance.
