What We Need:
The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex computer electromechanical systems for automation equipment. This role integrates mechanical, electrical, and software engineering principles to create automated systems that enhance operational efficiency and product quality. The ideal candidate will leverage data-driven insights to optimize equipment operations with minimal human intervention.
What You Will Do:

Design, evaluate, and develop advanced engineered systems and controls. -
Conceptualize, model, and integrate hardware, software, and data within multi-disciplinary technology-driven teams. -
Develop and integrate emerging technologies with built-in quality checks (poka-yoke processes) and data communication systems. -
Collaborate with the IT department on integration and network security. -
Implement data-driven Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) solutions aligned with Industry 4.0 practices. -
Specify and program various brands and types of robotics to meet customer requirements. -
Create electrical prints and diagrams to support shop floor execution. -
Debug and troubleshoot control systems in manufacturing environments. -
Mentor and train team members in robotics applications and programming. -
Manage project budgets and expenditures. -
Provide customer service and support for system implementations.
What You Have:
Experience Requirements:

7-10 years of experience in an industrial equipment design or build environment. -
Expertise in developing systems incorporating PLCs, PC-based controls, and data-driven improvements.
What You're Good At:
-
Proficiency in PLC programming using ladder logic. -
Strong understanding of Industry 4.0 and MES solutions. -
Experience with microprocessors, PC-based control systems, and vision-based quality checks. -
Ability to design and prototype process improvement initiatives. -
Hands-on debugging and troubleshooting experience in manufacturing environments. -
Ability to coach, mentor, and train others in robotics applications. -
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Physical Conditions:

Approximately 80% office/shop floor design work, 20% hands-on debugging and commissioning. -
Work primarily in an office setting with low noise levels. -
Frequent computer work, sitting, and standing for extended periods. -
Exposure to temperature, humidity, and dust fluctuations in manufacturing facilities. -
Climbing stairs, occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs.), bending, reaching, and walking as needed. -
Required PPE: safety shoes, earplugs, and safety glasses on the shop floor.
