Senior Business Analyst, Product Development

Job Purpose

The Senior Business Analyst for Product Development is responsible for extracting and analyzing large sets of data and drafting requirements related to ICE's derivative market data. The role works with the business, operations, and engineering departments to design and develop product reference data solutions and business initiative execution plans for ICE's global futures and options derivatives markets. Additionally, this position focuses on designing and managing solutions to ensure accuracy and efficiency in data distribution across various domains and systems.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to create requirements and resource materials to support a wide range of product designs and downstream systems
• Extract and analyze product reference data using SQL, Excel, and Python
• Build requirement documents, conducting deep analysis to build artifacts, including use-cases, activity diagrams, user-interface schematics, business rules, technical specifications, and process flow for ICE's derivatives reference data systems
• Create business intelligence dashboards to inform business development decisions
• Prepare detailed documentation for data analysis and procedural processes
• Conduct thorough reviews of data processes, construct functional prototypes, and execute rigorous test plans
• Conduct ad hoc analysis to satisfy requests from business stakeholders
• Follow company software development processes and standards
• Follow evolution of derivatives markets and remain business current
• Study new technology and remain technically current

Knowledge and Experience

• Education & work experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Data, or Mathematics fields with minimum of 5 years' software product development, business analysis, quality assurance, or related experience; or
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Data, or Mathematics fields minimum of 3 years' software product development, business analysis, quality assurance, or related experience
• Minimum 5 years' experience with PL/SQL and Python required; must be able to independently create and refine advanced database queries for data analysis
• Strong SQL skills for database query execution and refinement; thorough understanding of relational databases and data modeling principles
• Tableau or similar data analysis tool experience required
• Experience working with Java or Kotlin a plus
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)-Strong Excel skills required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; technical and functional business writing skills required
• Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to write unambiguous requirements that do not imply design; must be results-oriented and self-motivated
• Ability to effectively facilitate requirements gathering sessions, reviews, and issue resolution involving multiple stakeholders
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Good working knowledge of software testing practices to contribute to high quality software

This role offers work from home flexibility of one day per week.
