Position Summary

LOCATION: Charlotte, NC

Duncan, SC available as an alternative location.

Design, build, and test next-generation automated packaging equipment with a dynamic, fun team in either Charlotte, NC (Corporate HQ) or Duncan, SC (Production HQ)

Here are some examples of the equipment that we design:




  • Robotic Bag Loaders
  • Printing System
  • Conveyors



Our Interns and Co-ops typically have a primary project that they work on for the duration of their term, in addition to smaller learning and training opportunities and mini-projects.

This is not a desk-only job, you'll be back and forth between a CAD station, our testing and assembly labs, and talking to people.

Engineering

  • Plan and conduct food packaging equipment research projects
  • Work hands-on to test, troubleshoot, assemble, and modify various pieces of food packaging equipment and their components
  • Work with Application Experts in their field
  • Work with manufacturing to build prototypes and commercial equipment
  • Prepare and modify engineering drawings for ongoing projects
  • Plan and conduct testing of machines to validate fitness for use in the field

Personal Development

  • Informal and Formal mentorship and exposure to leadership
  • Present to Leadership at the end of each rotation
  • Speaking opportunities, written communication coaching, and "how-to-corporate"

Note: Our primary customers are in the raw protein industry. Many of our internal tests involve handling protein products (think of products that you could buy in the meat case at the grocery store and putting them through a machine).

Qualifications

  • 2.5 or higher GPA
  • Authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must be able to handle and be in direct contact with raw meat and protein products
  • Able to provide own transportation to the internship/co-op location
  • Able to work 10+ hour days in 40F environments as needed (this is not often)
  • Ability to travel up to 30%

  • Creative and a strong problem solver
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
