Mental Health Technician (MHT) Position Summary:

We are currently seeking full-time Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to serve as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients on the Adolescent Unit. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about mental health or substance abuse patient care in a fast-paced environment with a multi-disciplinary treatment team.

Mental Health Technician (MHT) Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for patients.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and establishing and maintaining good health by using effective, therapeutic communication techniques.
  • Conduct environmental rounds on unit for safety and document observations
  • Facilitate patients' participation in therapeutic activities and groups.
  • Implement crisis management skills as directed by licensed staff.

Mental Health Technician (MHT) Shifts:

  • Day Shift-7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Night Shift-7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience: One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Certifications: Successful completion of CPR and Handle With Care certification; certifications may be obtained during orientation.
