We are seeking an experienced Senior IT DevOps Platform Administrator to design, manage, and optimize infrastructure platforms that support secure software build, test, and delivery processes in our primary domain and ITAR-controlled environment.

This role focuses on infrastructure automation, lifecycle management, and platform reliability across virtual machines, Kubernetes clusters, and supporting services. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Morpheus Data (or similar cloud management platforms) and deep expertise managing secure hybrid environments spanning on-premise, private cloud, and segmented networks.

Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks like NIST 800-218 (SSDF) and ITAR-specific infrastructure controls is essential.

Responsibilities

Platform Administration & Lifecycle Management

  • Administer and enhance Software Development Platform to automate provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management of virtual machines, Kubernetes clusters, and related infrastructure.
  • Manage underlying infrastructure hosts (e.g., vSphere, OLVM) and clusters within ITAR-segmented environments.
  • Maintain and enhance the Image Catalog to enable secure self-service provisioning for development teams while enforcing ITAR controls.
  • Manage templates, blueprints, and automation workflows within Morpheus for consistent and compliant infrastructure delivery.

Kubernetes and Container Platform Operations

  • Provision and manage Kubernetes clusters for containerized build pipelines and development/test environments in controlled networks.
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers to enforce security baselines, air-gapped operations (where needed), and approved container sources.
  • Establish infrastructure guardrails ensuring compliance with ITAR data handling and supply chain security requirements.

Infrastructure Automation & Integration

  • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, scripts, and automation pipelines to configure hosts, clusters, and platforms consistently across environments.
  • Work closely with Security and Compliance teams to ensure platform configurations align with NIST 800-218 (SSDF), NIST 800-171, and ITAR requirements.
  • Integrate platforms with secure CI/CD systems (e.g., CloudBees Jenkins), artifact management (JFrog Artifactory), and observability platforms (Splunk, Zabbix).

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure platforms meet all applicable security and compliance controls, including:
    • Network segmentation and isolation for ITAR data.
    • Strong access controls and RBAC.
    • Secure audit logging and retention per ITAR guidelines.
    • Vulnerability management, patching, and configuration management aligned with NIST and ITAR.
  • Support internal and external audits, including providing evidence of compliance.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure administration, DevOps platform management, or similar roles.
  • Hands-on experience with platforms like VMware vSphere, OLVM, and Morpheus
  • Strong Linux system administration skills (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) with automation expertise in Ansible.
  • Experience provisioning and managing Kubernetes clusters (Rancher, OpenShift, EKS, etc.).
  • Expertise in secure infrastructure management within ITAR-controlled environments.
  • Solid knowledge of networking, storage, and virtualization in air-gapped or segmented environments.
  • Experience integrating infrastructure platforms with CI/CD, observability, and security tools.
  • US Citizenship, being a lawful permanent resident, or a protected individual is required due to ITAR compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing self-service infrastructure catalogs and automated infrastructure workflows within Morpheus Data.
  • Prior experience supporting secure software build platforms in defense, aerospace, or government environments.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Supply chain security for software builds.
    • Service mesh and policy enforcement for Kubernetes clusters.
    • Compliance with frameworks like NIST 800-53, 800-171, CMMC.
  • Experience with:
    • Monitoring tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Zabbix).
    • Secrets management platforms (HashiCorp Vault, Delinea).

Soft Skills

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work across DevOps, IT, Security, and Compliance teams.
  • Ability to develop and document repeatable processes and operational runbooks.
  • Analytical thinker with a focus on automation and continuous improvement.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant certifications preferred:
    • Morpheus Data Certified Administrator.
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
    • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
    • ITIL, CISSP, or similar compliance/security certifications.

ITAR Requirement

This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen, as defined by ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), due to the handling of export-controlled technical data. Candidates must also pass background checks aligned with government contracting requirements.

Colardo Pay range: MIN $115,200.00- MAX $192,000.00

Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region
