Summary

Responsible for overseeing all operations of LVHN retail gift shops, ensuring a positive customer experience, and managing staff.

Job Duties

  • Ensures quality merchandise is available that is appropriate and saleable for all shop locations.
  • Supervises and maintains gift shop employees and volunteers.
  • Analyzes merchandise levels and trends; establishes order point and mix.
  • Develops sales strategies including visual strategies and marketing plans for successful financial health.
  • Reviews and analyzes financial reports from bookkeeper to ensure accountability of funds and profitability of shops.
  • Oversees merchandise selection based on sales data, shop location, and pertinent data.
  • Monitors and investigates any variances from expected outcomes or norms.
  • Oversees staffing of the shops to ensure adequate coverage with recruiting, screening, and selecting personnel.
  • Oversees orientation of new volunteers to gift shop in policies, procedures, hospital safety procedures, Point of Sale System, and other training.
  • Identifies merchandise vendors and manufacturers to ensure quality merchandise and standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience as a retail manager including operational management in all areas of retail business.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping, cash management and deposits, budgeting, inventory control, financial management, and computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in retail management, marketing, business management, or related field.

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
