Synchron has an exciting opportunity for a Legislative Support Specialist to provide wide-ranging program support to the U.S. Navy Team Submarine organization at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. You will be directly supporting the U.S. Navy's PMS 397 Program Office. PMS 397 oversees the design, construction, and delivery of the COLUMBIA Class Ballistic Missile Submarine (SSBN).?You will assist Team Sub in the design, development and production of this new class of submarines and support the Navy's future undersea warfare programs and systems.

Responsibilities:




  • Serve as a management advisor using a high-level of discernment and judgment to address a wide variety of interrelated subject matter that can include legislative, financial, contractual, programmatic, or other program office focus areas, requiring specialized ability to correlate and corroborate information into reports and records.





  • Provide a wide range of substantive oral and written presentations and reports to internal and external stakeholders.





  • Coordinate group efforts and consolidate findings into products; develop briefings for senior stakeholders.





  • Develop and implement overall program requirements based on new or revised legislation.





  • Demonstrate experience with acquisition management of programs with tasking that may include development of acquisition strategies and preparation of required acquisition documentation to support milestones.





  • Proficiency in preparing, selecting, organizing, and presenting information concisely.




Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree.




  • Ten (10) years of professional work experience involving the management and operation of large programs, platforms or policies.



  • Five (5) years of experience with congressional correspondence or equivalent military experience.





  • Advanced MS Office skillset to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Teams.





  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment accepting emergent tasking with little to no supervision and/or direction.





  • Able to work both independently and within large team environments.





  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with a vast team of diverse professionals.





  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines, as well as work independently and with sufficient knowledge to present projects to senior management.





  • Active DOD Secret clearance




Preferred Education and Experience:




  • DoD Acquisition experience involving research and development, procurement, or life-cycle maintenance and modernization programs.





  • Operational Navy Fleet experience, submarines preferred.




Work Location: Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC.

Travel: potential for travel (approx. 10%)
