Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire an Attorney Recruiting Coordinator reporting to the Manager of Attorney Recruiting - Los Angeles. This position will reside in the Los Angeles office and will be responsible for coordinating a wide range of activities supporting the overall planning, management and administration of student and lateral attorney recruiting and integration, including student recruiting, planning of the summer associate program, lateral recruiting, and orientation.

A hybrid in-office/remote working schedule is available for this position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain database for summer associate and lateral candidates as needed.

  • Provide all statistical data, as needed.

  • Create surveys and track survey data as needed.

  • Attend and participate in Professional Recruiting meetings.

  • Coordinate due diligence for students and laterals.

  • Support other projects as requested by Office Hiring Partners, Office Managing Partners, Local Hiring Committees, and Practice Group Leaders.

  • Field daily recruiting/legal personnel questions for attorneys, fall associates, summer associates, and laterals.

Summer Associate Program

  • Collect, track, and report on summer associate data as needed.

  • Assist with assignment process, collecting evaluation forms and other tasks as needed.

  • Assemble mid-summer and end-of-summer evaluation packets for Hiring Partners and help facilitate the departure process.

  • Attend summer associate events and ensure all event policies are adhered to.

  • Coordinate Summer Associate local office orientation. Coordinate with local office services and other departments as necessary.

  • Assist in the planning and organization of summer events and training programs.

  • Assist with preparation of agendas for committee meetings; attend meetings as directed.

  • Assist summer associates with all aspects of relocation, as needed.

Law Student Recruiting

  • Greet recruits upon arrival and escort them to interviews.

  • Coordinate on-campus interview registration/resume screening/contact with local law schools.

  • Maintain relationship/communication with law school placement offices.

  • Coordinate and distribute interview schedules.

  • Prepare interviewer materials and candidate interview packages.

  • Assist the manager with preparation for Recruiting Committee meetings; attend meetings as directed.

  • Pull and review candidate application materials.

  • Respond to applicant inquiries regarding candidacy, interview travel, etc.

  • Draft student status correspondence; offers and declines after-interview letters.

  • Prepare offer letters.

  • Assist the manager with planning and facilitating law school outreach programs.

  • Travel on-campus and accompany attorneys to relevant law school events.

  • Maintain ViRecruit and other student recruiting databases; prepare status reports.

  • Compile information for National Association for Law Placement (NALP).

  • Assist with updating and maintaining various recruiting materials/forms.

Lateral Associate Recruiting

  • Assist Attorney Recruiting Managers with initiating searches.

  • Coordinate scheduling for screening and callback interviews with candidates and attorneys.

  • Prepare candidate interview packages and greet candidates as needed.

  • Prepare offer letters.

  • Draft status correspondence; offers and declines after-interview letters.

  • Coordinate conflicts clearance and background checks for laterals (and students).

  • Maintain ViRecruit database and prepare status reports as needed.

  • Follow and complete lateral hiring checklist procedures.

Fall Associate Orientation

  • Collect, track, and report on entry-level associate data as needed.

  • Coordinate Bar Exam Registration and Bar Review Courses.

  • Coordinate salary stipends while studying for the Bar Exam.

  • Coordinate the Fall Associate orientation. Coordinate with local office services and other departments as necessary.

Experience/Qualifications:

This job requires:

  • A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, and;

  • A minimum of 2 years of related law firm recruiting or Human Resources experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • This job may require occasional travel to law schools and other Morgan Lewis offices.

  • This job requires the flexibility to work overtime or beyond the regular business hours, specifically evenings during the Summer.

  • Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Preferred: ViRecruit, iManage Document Management System, Flo Recruit.

For positions in Los Angeles, CA, the salary range for this job posting is: $75,400.00 - $120,550.00.

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an "at-will position" and the firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, firm or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
