Our manufacturing client is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant responsible for monitoring and analyzing direct labor and material costs while ensuring accurate tracking and allocation of overhead expenses. This role will primarily utilize Excel for cost tracking, with a planned transition to Oracle Fusion ERP. The ideal candidate will have expertise in standard costing and variance analysis and will play a key role in maintaining cost accuracy for finished goods, kit assemblies and engineering services. Key Responsibilities: Finished Good and Kit Assembly Costing: Maintain and update labor and overhead rates as the BOM evolves. Track material usage and analyze variances due to BOM fluctuations. Support process improvements in cost tracking as the kit build stabilizes. Implement and maintain structured variance tracking for labor efficiency and overhead costs. Engineering Services Costing: Ensure accuracy of cost allocations for services billed at predetermined rates. Monitor cost trends and assess the impact on service profitability. Maintain predefined cost structures for engineering services. ERP & Cost Tracking:* Transition cost-tracking processes from Excel to Oracle Fusion ERP. Enter and analyze standard cost data within Oracle Fusion once implemented. Ensure accurate and consistent cost reporting across Excel and ERP systems. Variance Analysis & Reporting:* Implement labor efficiency and overhead variance tracking. Refine material variance reporting based on existing cost structures. Identify cost inconsistencies and provide recommendations for improvement. Required Skills & Qualifications:* *Experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing or engineering services. *Proficiency in standard costing methodologies and variance analysis. *Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation, and automation where needed). *ERP experience, preferably with Oracle Fusion (familiarity with standard costing in ERP systems is a plus).
