Job Summary

Lightpath is seeking an OSP Field Inspector who will be responsible for supporting the construction of Network plant by overseeing all construction activities. In addition, this role will support plant maintenance and repair and support in the Arizona market.The OSP Field Inspector is a vital part of the Lightpath's team. Lightpath has near-term plans to dramatically accelerate expansion and, in doing so, the construction of new fiber plant. The OSP team is responsible for working with outside contractors to enable the rapid deployment of plant to enable this expansion, and the OSP Field Inspector will play a key role in this process.

Responsibilities
  • Help define and manage OSPcontractor project plans for network deployment in market.
  • Communicate effectively with all teams and individuals on the project, both internal and external, in an effort to provide daily updates on fiber deployment progress.
  • Daily oversight of fiber plant placement and reporting via OSP project management tools.
  • Maintain organized trackers, records, and other data of progress in the field by contractors.
  • Effectively work with local residences/neighborhoods to ensure quality installation by Lightpath's contractors.
  • Daily management of Lightpath contractors to ensure all construction is restored to original conditions.
  • Report all field changes on conduit/fiber/handhole placement in the field via fiber mapping tools.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications

Experience/Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • College degree and/or equivalent 3 to 5 yrs experience in similar field.
  • Positive attitude, willingness and eagerness to learn new things, team player.
  • Ability to understand/learn the fiber network construction process.
  • Working on a computer knowledge and Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • Understanding and interpreting plant maps.
  • Must have clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass drug test.
  • Understanding of ISP services.
  • Ability to work with others on all responsibilities.

Additional Requirements

  • Requires sitting, listening, and talking, occasional standing and walking, and infrequent bending at the waist, twisting of the upper body, kneeling, walking on uneven surfaces, squeezing and crouching.
  • Requires infrequent lifting and carrying of from 1-40 pounds.
  • Close detail work requiring visual acuity.
  • Daily driving to oversee multiple contractor crews in the field.
  • Must be able to perform sedentary work.
