Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a Marketing Specialist to support both Unified Work (UW) marketing efforts and Development initiatives. This role will involve managing marketing materials, developing communications strategies, and executing events that promote community engagement, drive product awareness and support fundraising goals. The ideal candidate will bring a can-do attitude with the ability to flex into the needs of the gritty business. Essential Functions:
Unified Work Marketing Support (50%):
* Oversee the creation of marketing materials, including brochures, digital assets, email campaigns, newsletters, and MVP (minimal viable product) launches that drive UW's goal of 1 Million learning experiences by 2030.
* Plan and coordinate community events to build and strengthen UW / MDI brand presence, fostering local engagement and enhancing the organization's visibility.
* Regularly update the UW website. Provide monthly tracking.
* Manage the social media for all MDI & UW (7) platforms including developing editorial calendar; use AI to quickly produce strategic content / blogs for both organic and paid efforts.
* Develop and execute digital campaigns with agency to drive UW class leads and promote new product offerings - VR, STEAM, etc.
* Support the setup needs for UW classes, this includes email communications to participants, supplies, etc.
* Support the execution of apx. 15-20+ annual UW / MDI community events / sponsorships to ensure all marketing materials are produced and event logistics handled. On-site support as needed.
* Track activities and analyze the success then offer recommendations to meet stakeholder goals.

Development & Fundraising Support (50%):
* Support event planning for fundraising efforts, including on-the-ground coordination for annual fundraiser and other future donor appreciation events. Including soliciting for donations, logistics, vendors, email invites, event signage, volunteer coordination, etc. On-site event support required.
* Assist in the creation and execution of donor nurture campaigns, including materials for donor engagement, donor acquisition, and stewardship.
* Work with the development and grant team(s) to create compelling fundraising materials that highlight the organization's mission and impact.
* Assist in managing communications around fundraising goals, product promotions, and donation requests.
* Track fundraising campaign performance, helping to optimize messaging and engagement strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
* 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or development; preferably at a non-profit.
* Enjoys leading projects with little direction and has a can-do attitude with a desire to grow.
* Highly organized and comfortable leading groups internally and event sub-committees.
* Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a focus on nonprofit marketing and donor communications.
* Proven experience with event planning for fundraising or community engagement.
* Ability to balance multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
* Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check
* Satisfactory completion of a Motor Vehicle Record Check
* Valid state-issued driver's license
* Verified eligibility for employment in the United States

Environment and Physical Demands:
* A traditional work week (M-F) with MDI core hours. Work during non-traditional hours as needed to support events.
* Basic vision required.
* Works in a typical office setting which includes;
o Continuously sit, use of computer monitor, mouse, and keyboard, standard telephone, hearing and talking.
o Occasionally lift, reach, rotate hands, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
* Occasionally works in a typical factory environment-including high noise levels, moving machinery, conveyors, dust, and chemicals.

Other:
* Periodic travel around Minneapolis (and to Northern plant locations) to support event needs.
* Ability to independently travel by car for occasional meetings and events.
