The Role: Our site in Bedford, MA is seeking a/an Process Engineer Co-Op to join our team for the Fall 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.
We are looking for a student to join the Membrane R&D group to support the continuous yield and performance improvement projects for membrane development. The group looks to make highly impactful changes on large-scale manufacturing processes. The student will test the feasibility of process changes, create designed experiments, and make process recommendations. The ideal candidate has interests in R&D development, manufacturing operations, and working in lab environments.
What You'll Do: * Assess membrane properties across multiple test methods and multiple membrane types. * Complete measurement system analysis on new testers for membrane. * Characterize membrane properties. * Recommend what process changes result in best membrane performance. * Assess impact of development improvement changes on membrane properties. * Look for improvements in new membrane test methods and assist in qualification of new test methods. * Other general daily tasks may include: o Test new ideas for improving membrane properties o Prepare designed experiments and review with stakeholders o Execute on designed experiments. o Complete analysis and present findings to group o Test membrane to characterize performance o Build experimental set-ups o Develop statistical skills o Contribute to brainstorming sessions o Consider how bench top experiment findings can be used in manufacturing-scale processes. o Make recommendations and depending on feasibility o Work with operations to evaluate our manufacturing processes.
What We Seek: * Data driven and hands on approach to work * Excited to work in manufacturing and lab environments * Independent, ambitious, and comfortable working with others on cross-functional teams * Good multi-tasking skills and ability to manage multiple projects * Feels comfortable asking questions when unsure of the path forward
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year: * Chemical Engineering preferred, will consider mechanical engineering, material science engineering, or similar * Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program with a graduation date of December 2025 or later.
Eligibility: * Must be a currently enrolled student * Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in July through December * Must be familiar with the university's requirements to participate in a co-op program * Entegris does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
