JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the engineering, technical support, project management and construction services associated with the planning, estimating, design, construction, inspection, operation and maintenance of Company facilities. Ensure compliance with Federal and State codes and regulations. Responsible for ensuring that facility-related projects are complete on time, within scope and budget. Manage consultants, contractors and vendors on facilities-related work. Administrative responsibilities include organizational planning, budgeting, coordination, communications, quality control, personnel management, safety and training..
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

* Accountable for departmental performance. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges. Decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plan. Generally manages a recognized discipline and specialty with separate budget.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Supports needs for facilities set up for Incident Command System (ICS).

* Responsible for the administrative duties including organizational planning, budgeting, coordination, communication, quality control, member performance evaluation, safety awareness and training.

* Foster partnerships with business units throughout the organization to identify needs and improve facilities.

* All other duties as assigned.

* Manage performance and development of members; Lead, motivate, coach, develop, and influence others positively while fostering a team environment; Provide fair and accurate evaluations and performance reviews of direct reports and ensure work observations and performance reviews are fair and thorough; Provide constant feedback to team members on their current level of performance and opportunities to improve; Understand the goals of team members and provide input on ways to achieve a desired career path; Address and resolve concerns escalated by members of the work group.

* Partner with Quality Coordinators working with members and outside vendors and contractors to coordinate projects and maintenance activities, including the testing and inspection of equipment, technical and building systems.

* Provides daily oversight to team members, as well as, consultants, contractors and vendors.

* Coordinate with other managers and supervisors to assure open communication and process coordination, compliance and improvement.

* Serve as major project manager/coordinator/supervisor ensuring that quality of construction complies with project scope, construction documents, company policies and procedures.

* Manage and monitor budgets and resources to meet or exceed operational goals and objectives; Manage and submit the capital tool budget for the work group.

* Direct engineers, technical support, designers, estimators, drafters, and construction services associated with the planning, estimating, design, construction, inspection, operations and maintenance of Company facilities.

* Responsible for project management of facility renovation, excavation, engineering, technical support and construction services throughout the company's service area, actively prioritizing requests across the organization.

* Responsible for all facilities Operation construction related projects to ensure project completion with customer approved scope, schedule and cost.

* Responsible to promote a safety culture by leading, modeling and coaching behaviors consistent with IIF (Incident and Injury Free). Ensure weekly and monthly safety meetings are held; Monitor to ensure all members complete compliance training/certifications.

REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, And 6 years utility Engineering experience; Or

* Bachelor's Degree in Business or Technical field, And 7 years directly related experience in Construction Management or Facilities Management (e.g., Construction Project Management, Construction Coordinator, Facilities Coordinator); Or

* Associate's Degree in business or technical related field, And 10 years Construction Management or Facilities Management (e.g., Construction Project Management, Construction Coordinator, Facilities Coordinator). And

* 2 years experience in a formal leadership role with direct reports

WORKING CONDITIONS

* Requires travel throughout the Company's service territory to meet with internal and external customers, crews and contractors, inspect job sites, and oversee project- related activities.

* Requires occasional overnight, out-of-town travel to attend conferences, workshops, seminars and training.

* Office environment using office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, mouse and computer monitor.

* Requires extensive hours and work outside of normal business hours as workload dictates.

* May perform work at a site location; may be exposed to weather conditions such as extreme heat or cold.

SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

* Member is required to drive in order to perform their job duties. Member is assigned a company vehicle and/or member must drive a company and/or personal vehicle to complete company business at least 50% of time.

* The operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including but not limited to, electric utilities, power generation or distribution;

* Repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

* Demonstrated computer skills with knowledge of MS-Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) and company software (e.g., CAD, SAP), as needed.

* Demonstrated ability to effectively define a problem, analyze available information, explore appropriate solutions, and make quality fact-based decisions.

* Demonstrated ability to collaborate and interact effectively and professionally with team members, leaders, and customers.

* Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership by setting direction, engaging members, creating the right atmosphere, and building trust.

* Demonstrated strong project management skills and the ability to efficiently plan, establish priorities, and assign resources.

* Demonstrated collaborative and effective communication skills to build partnerships with internal customer.

* Demonstrated strong knowledge of facility operations, repair and preventative maintenance for construction projects (e.g., engineering, architecture, construction technology) and facility-related local, state and federal laws and regulations.

* Demonstrated strong customer service focus and to ability achieve Key Results around customer satisfaction.

* Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, develop, and influence others positively while fostering a team environment.

* Demonstrated ability to assume a manager role in adhering to construction standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Demonstrated strong knowledge of engineering, architecture, construction technology, and facility-related local, state and federal laws and regulations.

* Demonstrated leadership in IIF (Incident and Injury Free) culture.

SALARY RANGE

$104,312 - $139,069
