Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Director of Sales is responsible for onboarding and training of new account managers and monthly ongoing training within the market and across UHS. Working on behalf of the UHS hospitals, the Director of Sales is accountable to understanding budgeted referral calls for each facility and the market overall and for generating the required budgeted referral calls. This will be achieved through development of sales team members including the management and oversite of schedules.

The Director of Sales is actively involved in discussions related to a wide variety of issues such creating and analyzing metric reports, identifying goals and potential sales growth opportunities. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for targeted customer channels and maintaining strong relationships with key customers working collaboratively with the sales team.

The Director of Sales will provide oversite of marketing programs that support the expansion and growth of company services, products, and brand.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Strategically analyzes and designates target markets for Sales team member and territory account assignments, considering the strengths and weaknesses of each Sales team member. Ensures that expertise and personal styles of team members are insightfully matched to prospective referral sources.
  • Monitors the performance of each Sales team member against departmental goals. Assists the team in developing individual sales plans, territory management and routing schedules. Accompanies each Sales team member on a minimum of a monthly basis, or more often as needs arise, to assess selling techniques, document outcomes, provide constructive feedback, retrain, and redirect, as needed.
  • Arranges ongoing in-service education and training within UHS in coordination with Regional Director of Business Development in the areas of Sales Excellence, messaging, account management, messaging, service recovery, customer service, computer systems, time management and business development strategy. Regularly analyzes results of referral development calls, evaluates, and prioritizes referral targets and, modifies strategies as needed.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors the strategic plan in conjunction with the Regional Director of Business Development and updates periodically to evaluate goals to plan. Assists in development of sales department monthly operating report, inclusive of all required components; utilizes report to monitor success of efforts and to develop and implement corrective action plans, when necessary. Consistently submits accurate, comprehensive reports to Regional Director of Business Development in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's preferred.
  • 8-10 years of related work experience required.
  • Successful completion of the UHS DBD Training Program.
  • Exceptional creativity and resourcefulness in developing messaging, news releases, print and collateral material.
  • Solid understanding of key public and private payer policy infrastructure, payment methodologies, coverage, health policy trends, and current business challenges.
  • Advanced understanding of factors affecting sales results and effectively incorporates these into strategic plans.
  • Highly developed analytical skills with demonstrated ability to conceptualize issues and synthesize data to provide strategic direction.
  • Strong Written and Verbal Skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
