Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) to advise our project team on quality manufacturing and production of utilities equipment pedestals/bollards/protective casings. The SME will provide expert guidance on what to look for in quality manufacturing processes, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards for installation in the public right-of-way.



Responsibilities

    Advisory Role: Provide expert advice to the project team on quality manufacturing and production standards for utilities equipment pedestals/bollards/protective casings.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of the production site, including evaluating the tools and molding/fabricating processes used by the manufacturer.
  • Process Evaluation: Assess the manufacturer's production processes and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) measures to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Design and Engineering Guidance: Offer insights on refining the design and engineering of the products to meet all necessary standards and regulations for installation within the public right of way (PROW).
  • Certification and Compliance: Ensure that all products obtain the necessary certifications and comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including material and construction standards, electrical safety standards, and accessibility compliance.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Gas Engineering team and project team to ensure seamless integration of company policies, standards, and procedures with the manufacturer vendor.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of design and manufacturing progress, vendor performance, and compliance with standards. Provide regular reports to project stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues, facilitating clear and effective communication between the company and the vendor.


Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing Insight: Proven experience in evaluating production sites, inspecting tools and molding/fabricating processes, and assessing QA/QC measures.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in utility infrastructure, manufacturing, or a related field, with a focus on design and production of protective enclosures.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of material and construction production standards, electrical safety standards a plus, and local and state regulations.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with a track record of overseeing large-scale projects and ensuring vendor compliance.

Wage Data Per State Requirements

Salary range for this position is $130,000 - $165,000. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
