GENERAL FUNCTION

EssilorLuxottica is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position plays a key role in the improvement in Quality at our location.

The Quality Engineer is responsible for determining production standards by establishing quality control systems and setting product requirement rules.

The duties include:



  • Identifying the specifications for an ideal product,
  • Determining an appropriate level of variation,
  • Monitoring quality assurance rates,
  • Investigating customer's complaints and process nonconformities.


The Quality Engineer will work with multiple process owners in various departments.

This position requires a deep understanding of manufacturing processes throughout the lab. This position is responsible for Quality general activities such as:



  • Investigating and analyzing quality assurance problems/defects encountered,
  • Actively facilitating and achieving Quality improvement activities in the facility
  • Developing and documenting the specifications of quality standards,
  • Reviewing and final approving the SOPs, work instructions and PCP deployment and maintenance,
  • Making sure processes adhere to quality standards,
  • Deploying a system of Audits - post final inspection - and immediately reporting audit results to Lab Operations Leaders,
  • Assisting in generating, monitoring, and communicating lab performance Quality metrics and reporting to identify areas where to apply process control and improvement activities,
  • Achieving excellent Teamwork and Communication including with communication strategies for the Quality initiatives
  • Managing Testing and Validation Program when needed.
  • Serving as a training resource where appropriate,
  • Traveling to other lab locations,
  • Other quality related assignments, as required.


Incumbent must be able to exhibit the self motivation and capability necessary to achieve maximum quality standard conformance, thus enhancing the Customers' Experience

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • 5 years minimum experience in Quality discipline, and/or 5years minimum experience in optical or wholesale laboratory environment,
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering,
  • Demonstrated competency in facilitation skills, preferable in an optical and/or optical laboratory environment,
  • Project management skills,
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation skills to all Management levels, both internally and externally, while representing our company in a professional manner,
  • Advanced Computer Skills in Microsoft Office, Access, PowerPoint, Excel,
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Capability Process Control, process sampling systems and procedures and statistical techniques,
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and teamwork skills,
  • Must be self starter, highly organized, manage to priorities and meet deadlines,
  • Superior knowledge of ISO Quality system requirements,
  • Working knowledge of ophthalmic manufacturing process and coating process,
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus, but not required,
  • ASQ Certification is a plus but not required.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
