Capital Equipment Engineering Co-Op - Fall 2025

The Role:
Our site in Billerica, MA is seeking a/an Capital Equipment Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Fall 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.

The purpose of this role is to support the capital equipment engineering / project management group in the introduction of new manufacturing equipment at various phases of the project lifecycle. This includes activities ranging from establishing the existing need and developing a user requirement specification (URS) through coordinating installation activities, and validation & qualification (V&Q) sign-off.

What You'll Do:
* Engage with a cross-functional project team including facilities, EHS, R&D, maintenance and reliability, controls engineering, quality, and operations to assist in various project management activities
* Collaborate with all functions to complete project tasks such as detail design refinement and action item closure
* Assist in documentation completion
* Participate and/or lead project meetings and provide input on equipment design, schedule, action item follow-up, etc.
* Analyze project finances to provide updated budget and spend forecasts
* Utilize CAD platforms to evaluate proposed vendor designs and develop 2D/3D designs as needed
* Work hands-on to evaluate existing equipment on the production floor and assist in introduction and testing of new equipment

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
* Mechanical engineering, Electromechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, or Chemical engineering
* Graduating in 2026 or 2027

Eligibility:
* Must be a currently enrolled student
* Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in July through December
* Must be familiar with the university's requirements to participate in a co-op program

* PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to complete desk work and work with hands-on equipment. You may also occasionally need to work in a cleanroom environment, which includes gowning in cleanroom attire.
