What You Will Do:
Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Senior Designer, Water to join our Water Group in Richmond, VA! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Richmond, VA office.

What you'll be challenged to do:

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Participating on project teams in the planning, design and construction administration of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure facilities.
  • Interaction and project coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Leading work activities and communicating with various municipality, utility and governmental regulating agencies.
  • Infrastructure design services including:
  • Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections, and assist with data collection, compilation and assessment for utility infrastructure projects
  • Developing design concepts and criteria for distribution system and collection system improvements
  • Hydraulic, civil and environmental design of water and wastewater infrastructure
  • Preparation of contract documents including reports, plans, specifications and cost estimates
  • Analyze processes based on drawings and specifications, and perform calculations
  • Review and prepare federal, state, and local permit applications
  • Perform construction observation and field engineering services
Education | Experience:
What you will bring to our firm:
  • BS in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering.
  • EIT is strongly encouraged. Candidate should be on a track to receive their PE.
  • 2-5 years of experience required in water and wastewater discipline, particularly water/wastewater utility design work including pipe, tank and/or pump station design.
  • Design experience including information collection and development of plan and profile drawings, specifications, and permits.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Demonstrated experience including budget and schedule monitoring and control.
  • Team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and written report preparation.
What we prefer you bring:
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, Civil 3D or Building Information Modeling.
  • Envision Sustainability Professional Certification.
  • Experience in a consulting firm environment.
  • Experience on projects for JEA in particular and other Northeast Florida municipal water/wastewater utilities in general.
  • Construction observation experience.
Compensation:
The range for this position is salary range is $92,000 - $108,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
