Your role as the Metrologist 1:

  • Performs prescribed physical, mechanical, dimensional and weight inspections and calibrations on gages, tooling, devices that measure length, area, volume or capacity, mass, weight, time, temperature, electric current, torque, pressure, flow, broad tolerance weight, and monitors, by following procedures and using standards.
  • Performs Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) of tooling. Performs troubleshooting on devices and insepction equipment. Recommends equipment purchase, replacement and repair options.
  • Assists in establishing and preparing gage lab procedures, gage storage, and gage control functions.
  • Inputs data, prepares computerized reports.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Knowledge of: inspection and calibration principles, equipment operating principles, troubleshooting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to gather and evaluate complex information
  • Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints and schematics. Ability to understand documentation for calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Ability to use personal computer software for word processing, spreadsheet and database applications

Qualifications:

  • Prefer Associates degree from two year college or technical school in related field.
  • Two years experience with manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Prefer ASQ Certified Calibration Technician, or willing to obtain certification.
  • Understanding and experience with manufacturing processes and related equipment.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Valid driver's license required.

* Climbing (e.g. ascending/descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, pole, etc. using feet and legs and hands/arms to climb)

* Hearing

* Talking

* Capacity to think, concentrate and focus for long periods of time.

* Ability to read complex documents in the English language.

* Capacity to reason and make sound decisions.

* Ability to write complex documents in the English language.

* Capacity to express thoughts orally.

* Expertise in: Microsoft Office, SAP software

* Ability to wear a mask, respirator, bullet proof vest, or other equipment.

* Ability to regularly perform all job functions at Company's office or worksite.

* Ability to withstand environmental conditions (e.g. extreme heat or cold, grass, wind, sand, fumes, odors, gases, extreme noise, etc.)
