One of the world's leading manufacturers of high-quality flooring, Mannington Mills, Inc., based in Salem, New Jersey is engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of residential and commercial sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl, laminate and hardwood floors, as well as commercial and residential carpet and rubber under the Mannington Residential, Phenix Carpet, Mannington Commercial, Amtico and Burke brands. Job Summary: The Plant Controller will be responsible for all financial information related to manufacturing activities for Mannington LVT products. Support and drive understanding of performance with manufacturing and business segment management. Job Responsibilities:
- Weekly reporting of manufacturing performance based on variances to standards.
- Period close for profit centers related to Madison manufacturing including reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
- Prepare and manage forecasts based on year-to-date and year-to-go.
- Set standards for manufactured goods using run rates, scrap, material cost, labor and overhead based on current actuals.
- Research and report PPV related to material cost.
- Work with Inventory clerks on cycle count adjustments, bin status, and scrap transactions.
- Prepare capital expenditure forms and manage spending in relation to projects for manufacturing.
- Prepare and present KPI's for manufacturing performance
- Prepare and enter inventory reserve calculations. Provide insight for expense and current inventory levels.
- Achieve team integration and become a valued resource for the manufacturing group by driving business changes through analyses on expenses, product costing and warehousing movements.
- Develop annual cost center, material and labor budgets. Improve actual performance reporting against those goals or targets.
- Safeguards assets and ensures accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing procedures, processes, and checks across the business.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 5-7 years progressive financial experience in a manufacturing environment
- Technically proficient in accounting principles and financial modeling
- SAP general ledger, inventory and costing experience is a plus
- Ability to work autonomously and with a high degree of ownership
- Superior interpersonal skills including both verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for non-financial customers
- Strong user of PC based analytical tools, e.g. spreadsheets, financial modeling, TM1 & BI tool
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Strong organization skills balanced with the appropriate attention to detail
- Ability to work extended hours during selected critical time periods, e.g. period closing, budgets, year end
