Position Summary:

Works within the Quality team to collaborate with various cross functional groups to facilitate procurement of high-quality optical product components for Sig Sauer products. The candidate must be able to interact constructively with suppliers and colleagues throughout the company to accomplish the tasks below.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Performs evaluation of supplier capabilities in relation to the procurement of components for use in high precision optical products. These components may be mechanical, electrical or optical in nature.
  • Supports procurement team in the qualification of new suppliers.
  • Functions as interface for design engineering and the supplier to help resolve interpretation issues during design, NPI and production.
  • Supports Material Review process.
  • Assists Quality Engineering group as per workload.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.


Education and/or Experience:



  • 4 year technical degree and a minimum of 10 years' experience in engineering/manufacturing of aerospace, medical or automotive applications.
  • Strong knowledge with respect to application of GD&T
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with Solid Works Software
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Software.
  • Ability to write reports and procedures, and effectively present information to team members.


Working Conditions:



  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
