Summary:

Contribute to Hollister's growth, profitability, and continuity by leading medical device packaging and labeling activities for ostomy, continence care, critical care, and wound care products. Serve as a subject matter expert on project teams for new product launches and changes to existing products. Support global manufacturing and distribution sites. Support business unit and departmental continuous improvement objectives. Hollister operates in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities:




  • Apply working knowledge, under general guidance, on concepts, principles, and technical capabilities for projects of moderate scope and complexity.


  • Lead and support cross-functional projects for new product commercialization and changes to existing products.
  • Establish and manage packaging project schedules.
  • Develop and validate sterile and non-sterile packaging and labeling systems.
  • Qualify new packaging materials, equipment, and suppliers.
  • Support the delivery of Cost savings projects
  • Support the delivery of ESG projects
  • Ensure compliance with and monitor changes to packaging regulations.
  • Identify, lead, and support cost savings initiatives.
  • Write and coordinate technical documentation, including protocols, reports, procedures, specifications, work instructions, and original data.
  • Develop and validate test methods.
  • Source and validate laboratory equipment.
  • Represent Hollister at industry events (conferences, seminars, etc.)
  • Mentor new hires within department.


Essential Functions of the Role**:



  • Conduct packaging material testing and distribution simulations in laboratory environment.


Work Experience Requirements



  • Number of Overall Years Necessary: 2-5


  • Medical device packaging system development and validation
  • Technical writing
  • Optimization and cost savings
  • Design of experiment and process validation
  • Test methods for materials, integrity, physical properties, distribution simulation, and aging
  • Rigid and flexible sterile barriers
  • Fiber-based materials, including paperboard and corrugate
  • Porous and non-porous materials
  • Sterilization processes
  • Form-fill-seal and heat seal equipment
  • Manual and automated packaging processes
  • Statistical analysis
  • Labeling printers, systems, and software
  • Labeling equipment and vision systems
  • Fluent in English



Education Requirements



  • Bachelor of Science in Packaging or Engineering. Advanced degree desirable.



Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:



  • Advanced knowledge of ISO 11607, MDR, UDI, GS1, ASTM D10 and F02, ISTA
  • Experience with Qumas, SAP, PXSmartPrint, Loftware, Veeva, CAPE, TOPS, JMP, Minitab, Microscan

  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is $66,000 - $95,000 yearly. The actual salary varies based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, abilities, and other legitimate business factors.
  • If applicable: This position is also eligible to participate in the Hollister Secure Start Bonus Plan. The Company also provides a unique Benefit of Employee Share Ownership Program (BESOP) program based on earnings and length of service.
  • The Company's health and welfare benefits include medical, prescription, dental, vision, spending/savings accounts, disability, company paid (parental and caregiver) leaves, statutory leaves/disability programs, accident, life, wellbeing, education assistance, adoption assistance, and voluntary benefit programs.
