We are hiring a MES Engineer specifically with Tulip experience!
As a MES Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and deployment of platform-based solutions specific to Manufacturing and Quality operations. Primarily, these solutions will be in a low-code platform, Tulip, but typically include integrations to other platforms like Oracle ERP and Aveva PI (formerly OSIsoft PI). As such, understanding of integrations and data flow is important. A key component of the role includes functioning as a high-performing team member of other platform engineers and IT experts. *Description* *Partner with Manufacturing and Quality/Reliability Engineering organizations to develop solutions through effective understanding of business and process requirements *App Development: Design and develop custom Tulip applications to support MES functions, such as production tracking, quality inspections, work instructions, and real-time data capture from shop floor operations. *Process Optimization: Collaborate with functional peers to translate business needs into tailored app solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs). *System Integration: Configure integrations between Tulip and existing systems (e.g., ERP, PLCs, IoT devices) using connectors (HTTP, SQL, MQTT) to enable bi-directional data flow and real-time insights. *Data Contextualization: Build no-code dashboards and analytics within Tulip to transform raw production data into actionable metrics (e.g., cycle times, OEE, defect rates) for operators and leadership. *User Enablement: Train and support frontline operators in using Tulip apps, ensuring adoption and gathering feedback for iterative improvements. *Agile Development: Apply agile methodologies to rapidly prototype, test, and deploy apps, iterating based on operational needs and user input. *Governance & Best Practices: Maintain app versioning, permissions, and data integrity standards within Tulip's composable framework, aligning solutions with manufacturing best practices. *Troubleshooting: Debug and resolve app-related issues, ensuring consistent performance and uptime for production-critical workflows. *Resolve problems with applications including logic, performance, data flow and/or security *Provide consulting and guidance to end users to access or analyze data in useful ways *Produce documentation including process maps, data architecture maps, integration requirements, protocols/data specifications as needed *Build IT credibility by modeling professionalism, excellence, integrity, and passion *Managing technical deliverables for projects, contributing to project plan scope, and monitoring performance for timely completion *Support the development of change management strategies and related documentation *Serve as a subject matter expert for the Tulip platform and connected operations *Qualifications* *Bachelor's Degree in Information Management Systems, Computer Science, or Business Administration with an emphasis in technology *Minimum 5 years' experience in an Information Technology field relevant to manufacturing operations *Understanding of core business processes such as Quality, Manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 *Self-managed, self-starter, pro-active, and able to manage multiple concurrent activities with time constraints *Strong business engagement and professional written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills across all levels of an organization *Understanding of common manufacturing technology frameworks and standards, like ISA-95 *Experience with API and connector integrations *Experience designing, developing, and implementing MES enhancements in addition to net-new deliveries according to functional requirements documents *Experience with Tulip's Application Builder. This includes understanding how to design user interfaces, configure workflows, add widgets, set up data collection forms, and integrate with other systems. *Understanding of industrial automation processes, including knowledge of various protocols used in the industry (such as OPC, Modbus, MQTT, etc.) is helpful *Familiarity with the architecture of Aveva (formerly OSIsoft) PI System, including components like PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework (PI AF), PI Interfaces, PI Vision (formerly PI ProcessBook), and other modules. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00/hr.
