Job Mission:

A Security Systems Applications Specialist I is responsible for assisting in the management of the enterprise physical security systems at New Balance Athletics, Inc. This role is focused on security systems project management support, service and maintenance coordination, application administration, and deployment of future technologies.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Customer Service: Assist in providing excellent customer service to internal and external New Balance customers.
  • Project Management Support: Help the project manager conduct site assessments, identify risks, design solutions, prepare construction documents, manage bids, coordinate installation, and conduct acceptance testing.
  • Service and Maintenance: Monitor the health of security equipment, assist in analyzing service issues, recommend solutions, and coordinate service and repair.
  • Systems Administration: Maintain the performance and integrity of all security systems applications. Help track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators.
  • Systems Development: Seek out knowledge and training of current and new technologies and features. Help management ensure all security systems are kept up to date with industry best practices.
  • Training: Help maintain the training materials for the users of security applications.
  • Technical Liaison: Represent the Loss Prevention department as a physical security systems technology resource in meetings with internal and external customers and provide solutions for business needs.

Measures of Success:

  • Project Management: Complete tasks on schedule and within scope.
  • Service and Maintenance: Overall performance and health of existing security systems.
  • Systems Development: Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and deployment of solutions.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education (High School Diploma or GED) and experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years' experience in commercial security systems, including support, programming, installation, and servicing large complex Software House access control (ACS), ExacqVision or Genetec video management systems (VMS), and DSC intrusion detection systems (IDS).
  • Technical Expertise: Experience in the design, documentation, and integration of commercial security systems. Ability to serve as a technical resource for resolving system errors and failures.
  • Project Management: Understanding of IT project processes, language, and structure.
  • Technical Training: Preferred training on systems such as CCURE 9000, ExacqVision, Genetec, DSC, VMS systems, or other camera technologies, network, and/or software architecture.
  • Knowledge and Awareness: Knowledge of project management principles, documents, and plans. Successfully serves as a source of technical knowledge for area of expertise.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrate knowledge of the organization's business practices and issues faced, contributing to problem resolution.
  • Network Knowledge: Understanding of network layouts and concepts required, certification preferred.
  • Availability: Be on-call to troubleshoot emergency security systems issues and manage the response plan.
  • Travel: Valid driver's license and vehicle required for travel between facilities in New England. Some travel required to New Balance locations within the United States for project support.

Flexible Work Schedule

New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
