About the role:

As part of the supplier engineering function, the Material Project Manager serves as the central facilitator between global sourcing and new product development teams to drive supply chain development. This technical lead role partners with cross-functional engineering and technology category teams to mitigate risks, develop and procure materials, select suppliers, and drive component production readiness for new and next generation products. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Understanding the development of new product design features, processes, key components, potential supply base, and component risk
  • Executing supplier management tasks such as delegating engineering actions, tracking project schedules; develop and execute contingency plans to mitigate risks
  • Partnering with cross functional technical experts to drive best material decisions and outcomes; communicate results with key stakeholders and cross-functional leadership
  • Managing roadblocks that impact project success; collaborate with category teams, customers and related stakeholders to address and resolve issues
  • Facilitating activities between project and category teams to drive component production readiness, cost reduction, and design for manufacturability
  • Partnering with direct purchasing and project teams to procure materials on time
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities to drive efficiency for the material program management team and support product life cycle process


Required qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with a minimum 3 years of engineering experience
  • Project management experience with ability to create process flows, identify and mitigate project risks, and execute key deliverables
  • Ability to travel up to 10% (globally)


Preferred qualifications:



  • Minimum 3 years of medical device industry experience
  • Experience managing large-scale and complex projects involving multiple functions and sites
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous situations with strong conflict management and resolution skills
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to influence and drive cross-functional performance
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels (written and verbally)
  • Results-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, analytical and process-driven
  • Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
