Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation and recording of monthly journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Work with the Accounting Manager to execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues to bring to management's attention
- Assist with the preparation of accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with the established month-end close schedule
- Assist in calculation and filing of sales tax for multiple states
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Help maintain control over the fixed asset system by ensuring that all asset additions, disposals, and transfers are processed on time and are reconciled to the general ledger
- Review job costing analysis reports to assist in commission calculation and reviews
- Assist in payroll processing to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll for salaried and hourly employees
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Requirements and Technical Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced MS Excel skills (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables)
- Experience with general ledger functions
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical abilities
