Position Summary:

The Senior Director, Field Reimbursement Managers (SD-FRM) will be responsible for leading a national team of Oncology Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs). The SD-FRM is responsible for providing direction and guidance to the FRM team and ensure the exceptional delivery of reimbursement education to healthcare providers (HCPs) and office personnel including medical policies, prior authorization requirements, coding and billing guidance, directions for product access via buy-bill or specialty pharmacy with the goal of minimizing barriers to therapy. This position reports to the Executive Director of Hub and Reimbursement Services and is a vital member of the reimbursement leadership team.

Payrate is determined by considering a person's prior experience and competence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Leadership

  • Identify, recruit, hire and develop top talent for the FRM team.
  • Set the team priorities for reach and/or frequency with practices.
  • Role model the behaviors needed for excellent provider and practice interactions, joining team members where appropriate during live interactions.
  • Set the tone and tenor for the FRM team's interactions with the rest of the organization, demonstrating a willingness and sense of urgency to address any reimbursement or coding related issues that slow appropriate patient access to therapy.
  • Fill in for any absences on the FRM team and make calls on practices as needed to help resolve specific patient reimbursement issues.

Collaborate and Communicate

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Hub and Reimbursement services to determine the best way to maximize the FRM team to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the reimbursement services function.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales Leadership to identify reimbursement trends that could slow provider adoption and patient access to therapies and work together to create solutions.
  • Collect FRM team feedback as it identifies reimbursement or payer coverage issues and summarize the information to Reimbursement and Marketing Leadership to create solutions based on actionable feedback.
  • Routinely communicate with the Payer team to gain a complete understanding of payer-based medical policies and clinical criteria for the use of Meitheal's products.
  • Advise internal teams in the development of tools to be used in the field to assist in product reimbursement.

Product Knowledge

  • Collaborate with the Compliance Officer to develop product training and reimbursement educational materials.
  • Ensure all team members complete the required FRM specific product training to be knowledgeable about Meitheal's products.
  • Provide team directions on which product or reimbursement educational materials should be used and in which settings.

Market Access & Reimbursement Polices

  • Gain a firm understanding of the clinical policies, coding guidelines and prior authorization protocol required to prescribe Meitheal's FDA approved products.
  • Partner with the Specialty Business Unit's cross functional team to discuss both the written and verbal coverage policies for Meitheal's products and develop plans on how to inform providers.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Co-develop, with the ED of Hub and Reimbursement Services, key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, ensure all team members meet the established standards and provide performance coaching as warranted.
  • Ensure the FRM team adheres to all Legal and Regulatory guidance and that all activities and tactics are executed in full compliance with industry regulations, and Meitheal's compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrated success leading a field reimbursement organization is required.
  • 10+ years of relevant field reimbursement experience in the pharmaceutical industry required.
  • 5 + years or relevant experience in "Buy and Bill" reimbursement environment required.
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of payer billing practices in the US health care system, including Medicare, Commercial, Medicaid and other payer archetypes.
  • Proven record in product reimbursement and coding.
  • Must have a firm understanding of HIPAA rules and regulations related to patient privacy.
  • Strong knowledge of market access, patient access, and support services, with an emphasis on payer reimbursement.
  • Technical knowledge of health care reimbursement from a patient and provider perspective (authorizations, miscellaneous J codes, billing, coding, prior authorizations, appeals, patient and provider support programs and Hub operations).
  • Strong organizational alignment around prioritization and focus to meet set goals.
  • An ability to communicate with customers and stakeholders in a professional manner to build trust and credibility with health care providers.
  • Travel > 50% or as required to assist in the overall reimbursement process.
